Dinner at the Jorgies

I know this is so sad, but I had to capture this moment. This is not typical at our house, although I claim to enjoy cooking, I go through phases where I actually cook vs. heating up something that is pre-made (Trader Joes, etc.). My kids did not eat Cap'n Crunch for dinner tonight, so don't get me in trouble. They had chicken noodle soup....then when they saw dad eating cereal I had to give them each a small bag of cereal for dessert to be fair.

Muse

Yesterday my friend Amanda and I decided at the last minute to try and get tickets to see one of my favorite bands "Muse". We got a pretty good deal on ebay. All I can say is that it was amazing!!! We had so much fun! It was at the Verizon Amphitheater in Irvine and all day the news was saying to expect rain. We went prepared, except they wouldn't let you bring umbrellas in. We didn't care, we actually thought it would be fun if it rained during the show. It did not start raining until we were leaving and got to the parking lot. It was such a fun night! I have to see them perform again! Next time Joey has to come. He was sweet enough to let me go out and have a girls night. Here are a few pictures...I had to change one to black/white because the color was all messed up. I need a new camera...

Warm Welcome Home!

Joey got home from a long trip last night. The kids were soooo excited (and so was I)! I don't think I have ever seen them like that before. Every 5 minutes for about 2 hours Bennett asked me, "Is daddy coming up the hill yet?" This is how he measures how close Joey is. I had to explain to him that I do not have special powers that allow me to see dad while he is driving home, due to the fact that I am here with you and your sister!
The kids woke up early and we all went to breakfast at Pipes. It is nice to have our man of the house home!
Here is a picture of where Bennett stood for an entire hour waiting for Joey to pull up. The other pictures are from breakfast this morning...

Class of '97

I went to my 10 year reunion last night with my life long friend Cheryl. We have been friends since we were 2 years old. It was nice to have eachother to go with and laugh about high school days. I was expecting more people to be there, but it was still fun to see everyone that made it. There were maybe 100 people. It was definitely weird to see all those familiar faces. I won the ribbon for Married the Longest. Overall I think they could have made it better considering we all paid $100 for our tickets. One thing I was glad about was the name tags we had to wear. That helped a lot in identifying some people. It will be intersting (and scary) to go to our 20 year reunion. Maybe more people will come. Here are a few photos....as you can see the dance floor was on fire!

Joey's SC Hospital Visit

Joey had surgery on Monday to remove a "surfers knot" that he has had on his stomach since high school. They thought it was a lipoma, but it turned out to be a lot bigger than expected and it was not a lipoma. We will get the test results next week. Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing. The incision ended up being twice as big as the doctor predicted. Joey handled the whole thing like the real man he is. In fact he was up and out the door at 6 am this morning on his way to the airport. He is going to Vermont, NYC and Stockholm, Sweden. Here are some before and after shots of the surgery...

Happy camper right before surgery - I think the worst part for him was the IV
This might be my favorite photo of the day! I took this right after the anesthesiologist doped him up. If this is not a genuine smile than don't know what is...

Now he has a rad scar.

The Giant Green Gators

Bennett had his first AYSO Soccer game on Saturday. His team is the Giant Green Gators and they won 3-1. It is hilarious watching these little guys kick the ball around. We have some real stars on our team. Here he is with his best bud...

Bye Bye Resto!

Friday was my last day at Restoration Hardware! It is bittersweet for me. I really loved working there and I made some great friends, but the time came when it was just too much with Joey traveling so often. Here are a couple pictures. This is my friend Brian. We were trained on the same day and often closed together. I will miss the entire resto family!

**1st Day of School**

Today was Bennett's first day of Kindergarten. It was a very exciting day. Today was a short day and the parents were invited to come and explore the classroom. His teacher is Mrs. Stone and she seems very sweet. It was also Stella's first time going to school. She is going to a pre-school program every Tuesday. She felt like such a big girl and was so eager to get there. Then when we got there she was a little unsure, but when we picked her up she was playing and having fun. She did not want to go home. It was a very fun day!

Labor Day at Riviera

We spent Labor Day at Riviera with friends & family. It was the perfect beach day, accept the waves were a little strong. Bennett is learning to boogie board and surf with dad. Everytime he gets more and more comfortable and his fear is slowly fading away. Stella even went and Bennett was so proud of her.

Goodbye Skate Ramp

We had a great Labor Day weekend. We started out on Saturday at G-ma & G-pa's house. Joey, Sam & Brent tore down the old skate ramp that has been in the backyard for 10 years. Joey got the ramp from a friend in June '97. Joey and a few friends re-furbished it for all to enjoy. After a few years of non-use it was time to retire it. Here are a some before & after shots:

The first shot is when they were re-furbishing the ramp in June '97, the second is when it was finished and the ramp was ready to skate, the third is what the ramp looked like in August '07 right before they tore it down and the fourth is Joey and his dad tearing apart the last piece.
Meanwhile, I watched the kids play and try to stay cool in the kiddie pool.
